Here at Rhino Coffee Gear, not only are we committed to continuously looking for ways to improve our products, we are also striving for ways to reduce our environmental footprint. This is why you may have seen some changes in our packaging recently.
We are tackling sustainability in our packaging in several different ways. The most visible change that you may have noticed is our shift to kraft packaging. Cardboard is not naturally a shiny material, which means that any color-rich packaging you see with product images actually uses a plastic film coating. This coating allows for a high impact finish however it does not allow the packaging to be easily recycled by the consumer.

By making the switch to a more minimal design on kraft cardboard, we aim to encourage our packaging to be recycled instead of ending up in landfill.
The second change that we have made within our packaging process, has been to ensure that the material used in our retail packaging is certified by The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The FSC is a pioneer in responsible stewardship within the forest supply chain, and grants certification only to those companies who comply with the highest social and environment standards.
Rhino Coffee Gear is dedicated to sustainability and is actively implementing eco-friendly packaging solutions that reflect this commitment. We are updating our boxes to use FSC certified, kraft packaging, ensuring that the materials are sourced responsibly from well-managed forests.
Additionally, we are using biodegradable ink on much of the existing range, with old favorites in the process of being updated, ensuring the range continues to minimize environmental impact. Through these efforts, Rhino not only supports the coffee community but also prioritizes the health of our planet, maintaining a strong responsibility towards sustainable practices.
Not only have we chosen to partner with an FSC-certified packaging supplier and are making strides towards biodegradable ink implementation, we have also reduced or removed our internal plastic packaging for our products to significantly reduce single-use plastic waste.
We hope that our customers are able to appreciate all of these small changes we have made to our Rhino packaging in recent months, as we all endeavor to do our part to reduce our environmental footprint.
